Community Service Events: BUS giving back

1. Polar Plunge: Last year BUS raised nearly $2,000 for Polar Plunge, which was more than any organization on campus! Members of BUS braved the cold water to raise money for Special Olympics of Wisconsin. This year, the plunge is Sunday, February 23rd and the organization is primed to raised more then last year.

2.  Adopt-A-Highway: The Adopt-A-Highway program to allows Beta Upsilon Sigma to volunteer and support the state’s anti-litter program in a more direct way. Twice a year, BUS members drive to their adopted highway and rid it of litter. It is one of the most popular community service events of the semester.

3. Humane Society: The Eau Claire County Humane Association is dedicated to educating the public about the need for humane treatment of all animals and responsible pet ownership. BUS members get involved in this community and truely make an impact.

4. Community Table: The Community Table is a collaborative effort of many concerned individuals, businesses, and civic and social groups. Week in and week out, members of BUS attend community table to meet individuals in the community, as well as providing the community table staff anything they need help with, whether it be mopping the floors or socializing with the individuals.

5. Relay for Life: Relay For Life offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Every semester, BUS assembles a team to actively participate in the fight against cancer.
